Copyright Policy (DMCA)

In plain English

If you think someone has used your copyrighted work on Golfle without permission, send us a notice with the details listed below and we'll review it within a reasonable time. We'll terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

1. Overview#

Antlr Creativesrespects intellectual-property rights and complies with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the “DMCA”). This page describes how to submit a notice of copyright infringement and how to submit a counter-notice.

Note that Golfle is a guessing game with very limited user-generated content (essentially: display names). DMCA-eligible content on the Service is rare, but the procedure is here so you know what to do if you believe your rights have been infringed.

2. Submitting a notice of copyright infringement#

To submit a takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), email our designated agent at antlrcreatives@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” Your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, for multiple works, a representative list);
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or the subject of infringing activity, with enough detail for us to locate it (for example, the URL or the exact display name);
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.

Notices that do not substantially comply with these requirements may not receive a response. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a DMCA notice can subject you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

3. What we'll do#

When we receive a complete and good-faith notice, we will, in our discretion and as permitted by law:

  • Remove or disable access to the material identified in the notice;
  • Notify the affected user (if applicable) and provide them a copy of the notice;
  • Repeat-infringer accounts may be terminated.

4. Counter-notice#

If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) by emailing antlrcreatives@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.” Your counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Antlr Creatives may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or that person’s agent.

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a counter-notice can subject you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

5. Repeat infringers#

Antlr Creatives will, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the copyrights or other intellectual-property rights of others.
