About Golfle Daily
Golfle Daily is a free collection of daily golf games. There are two: Golfle, a Wordle-style puzzle where you guess the mystery professional golfer in eight tries, and Back Nine, a strategy game where you play the last nine holes of a Sunday from three shots behind. Both reset at midnight Eastern Time, and both are identical for every player that day. No account is required, and there are no ads in the play area.
Golfle
Golfle is the daily golf version of Wordle. One mystery professional golfer is chosen each day from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf League, and you have eight guesses to work out who it is. Every guess is a real golfer, and each one returns a row of colored cells comparing them to the answer across height, country, tour, age, career wins, college, and world ranking. Green means an exact match, yellow means close, and grey means far apart. Arrows on the numeric columns point higher or lower — on the ranking column the arrow points toward the better rank, which is the smaller number.

Back Nine
Back Nine starts where a tournament is decided. It is Sunday afternoon, you are three shots behind the leader, and there are nine holes left. You are dealt twelve golfer-season cards, each rated across Power, Positioning, Approach, Short Game, and Putting, and you play one card per hole. A card you spend is gone, so three are left on the bench when the round ends. Every hole asks for something different — length off the tee, a precise wedge, a putt on a green that runs away from you — and the card that wins hole 11 is usually the wrong answer on hole 16. The leader’s score is fixed before you tee off and never reacts to how you are doing, but you only see it one hole at a time.
- Daily round — One shared round per day. Every player gets the same course, the same hole layout, and the same twelve cards, and your first attempt is the one that counts.
- Fresh Nine — A brand new course and card pool whenever you want one, with the same rules. It does not affect your daily streak, and a round that finishes level goes to sudden death until someone wins.
The Bag
The Bag is about the decision a caddie makes before anyone hits a shot. Every round starts with the same nine clubs already in the bag — a driver, the 5 through 9 irons, a pitching wedge, a 56° wedge and a putter — and a rack of ten specialty clubs to choose from. You take exactly five, which fills the bag to the fourteen the rules of golf allow. What makes a club worth carrying is the setup: a real golfer with real strengths, a real course with its own demands, and conditions that can turn a calm morning into a day where flight control matters more than distance. The catch is that the nine core clubs already cover a lot, so the five that look strongest on their own are rarely the right five. A specialty club earns its place where the core is weak. When you lock the bag, it is scored against every one of the 252 legal ways to choose five from ten, and you get a Bag Fit percentile and a letter grade for where yours ranked.

- Read what the hole asks for — a 600-yard par 5 rewards Power, a short par 3 to a small green rewards Approach and Short Game — then play the golfer whose ratings fit it best. Each of the twelve cards can be used only once across the nine holes, so the real puzzle is which hole is worth which golfer. Check the scorecard for the holes ahead before you spend your best card.

- The Bag is a free daily golf strategy game about what to carry. Nine clubs are already packed and ten specialty clubs are offered; you choose exactly five for a real golfer playing a real course in the day’s conditions, then see how your fourteen ranks against every legal setup.
- How do you play The Bag?
- You are shown the golfer, the course and the conditions, then a rack of ten specialty clubs. Add and remove freely until you have exactly five, then lock the bag. The nine core clubs already cover most situations, so a specialty club is worth carrying where the core is weak rather than where it is simply strong. Your bag is scored against all 252 legal combinations and you get a Bag Fit percentile and a letter grade.
- Are the clubs in The Bag real branded golf clubs?
- No. The clubs are generic archetypes — a driving iron, a lob wedge, a fairway wood and so on — described only by what they do. There are no manufacturer names, no product models and no logos anywhere in the game. The golfers and courses are real; the equipment is deliberately unbranded.
- Are the golfer ratings official golf statistics?
- No. The golfers are real, but the ratings are Golfle’s own assessment of how each one plays. They are an opinion, not official statistics, and they are not endorsed by any tour, player, or data provider. Ratings are relative to the rest of the pool rather than absolute, and we do not compare across eras. Back Nine and The Bag read from one rating set, so the two games can never disagree about the same person. The courses in Back Nine are invented — no real course, hole, or yardage is being described. The Bag uses real courses, but how much a course demands of a given skill is our assessment too, not a measured statistic.
- How often do the daily puzzles change?
- Once per day. Both dailies reset at midnight Eastern Time and are identical for every player worldwide — the same mystery golfer in Golfle, and the same course, hole layout, and twelve-card pool in Back Nine. Each game also has an unlimited mode you can play as often as you like without affecting your daily streak.
- Which golfers are included?
- Golfle’s Daily and Current Pros modes draw from active PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf League players, and its All-Time Greats mode adds historical legends like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, and Seve Ballesteros. Back Nine deals its cards from the same pool of active tour professionals, and The Bag picks the golfer you are packing for from that pool as well.
