The board

5 clubs from one season of the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga or Ligue 1, shuffled. Move them until they sit in the order they actually finished, best at the top, and check.

Clubs move with the arrows beside them — finger, mouse or keyboard. There is no dragging anywhere in this game, deliberately: a puzzle that can only be solved by dragging cannot be solved by everybody.

Why the answer is never arguable

Final tables are computed here from published match results, three points for a win, with recorded points deductions applied. That part is arithmetic. The order of clubs levelon points is not: England separates them on goal difference, Spain and Italy on head-to-head. Real Madrid finished above Barcelona in 2006–07 on identical points and a worse goal difference.

So the game never asks. Every club on a board finished on a points total no other club in that division matched, and no two clubs on the same board are within 3 points of each other. There is exactly one right order and no tiebreak rule is holding it up.

Each season is also checked against an independent record of who won that league before it is allowed into the pool. Two seasons did not survive that check and are not in the game: Serie A 2005–06, whose title was reassigned after the season, and Ligue 1 2019–20, which was abandoned unfinished.

Which seasons come up

148 seasons are playable, from 1995–96 to 2024–25. The Daily draws from the 94 most recent of them, back to 2006, because a shared puzzle should be one most people could have watched. Unlimited draws from all of them, which is where the older seasons live.

How you win

3 checks. Each one says how many clubs are in the right place, never which.

You are sure of the top and the bottom: Place those first and spend your thinking on the middle three.The champion and the relegated club are the two most people remember, and fixing them turns a five-way ordering into a three-way one.
A check comes back with a number you did not expect: Swap exactly one pair before checking again.Changing one pair means the next number tells you whether that pair was the problem. Reshuffling everything wastes the information the check just gave you.
Your check returns zero: That is the most useful answer you can get. Rotate the whole order.Zero rules out five placements at once, which no other result does.
You do not know the season at all: Order them by what the clubs were in that era, not what they are now.The board prints the season above it. A club that is a giant today was not necessarily one in 1998, and that gap is usually the puzzle.

The board tells you how big the division was, so you can judge how far apart five clubs really are: fifth and twelfth of twenty is a different question from fifth and twelfth of eighteen.

Scoring

Solving it on the first check is a hundred, the second sixty-seven, the third thirty-three. An unsolved board scores nothing even if four of the five were right, because the game asks for an order and four-fifths of an order is not one.
